By studying the theoretical and methodological planning of local economic development, students will be able to prepare development plans for local and regional communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By studying comparative models of local community development in the most developed countries of Western Europe, students will be able to think critically about the problems of economic development and functioning of local self-government in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and about the most important aspects of the legal, territorial and functional reform of local self-government in the process of integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into European Union. Basing local economic development on the integrating function of the public, private and non-governmental sectors, students will acquire basic knowledge about the regional development policy of the European Union, various forms of regionalization of the member states of the European Union, and especially about the possibilities of shaping the legal and institutional basis of the regional development of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of integration into European Union.
