Article 238.
(Student Status)
The status of a student of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies is acquired by enrolling in full-time, part-time or distance learning, or a combination of these three ways of studying.
Article 239.
(Types of student status)
(1) Candidates who are enrolled at the University, in the 1st (first) year of undergraduate studies, may be in the following status:
(2) The status referred to in point a) of the previous paragraph is held by a full-time student who is enrolled in a course by being ranked among those financed from the budget in the academic year for which he was enrolled according to the competition.
(3) The status referred to in point a) of paragraph (1) of this article can also be acquired (in the next academic year) by the student who is enrolled in the first year, with independent financing, in the enrolled study program, during the academic year, based on the passed exam, achieved 60 ECTS points (that is, passed the exams in all subjects of that year of study in regular terms) and achieved an average grade of at least 8 (eight).
(4) The decision on the change of student status in terms of the previous paragraph, for each subsequent academic year, is made by the NNV/UNV faculty.
Article 240.
(Status of a student enrolled in two study programs)
(1) A student who is enrolled in a specific study program as a full-time student of the University can simultaneously have the status of a part-time student in another study program.
(2) A student who, during the academic year he is attending, does not meet the appropriate conditions for enrollment in the next year of study, renews the study year and pays the participation fee in the amount determined by the Senate, with the prior approval of the Cantonal Government.
Article 241.
(Termination of student status)
(1) Student status ends:
(2) The status of a full-time student, except in the cases from the previous paragraph, ceases for a full-time student who renews the same study year 2 (two) times and does not meet the requirements for enrollment in the next year of study.
(3) Termination of student status is decided by the dean of the faculty/academy/high school with a special decision.
Article 242.
(Reacquisition of student status)
(1) A student whose status as a student has ended as a result of dropping out before completing his studies, not enrolling in the next year of study, or failing to renew his enrollment in the same year of study within the prescribed period, without his rights and obligations in accordance with the law and this Statute, may regain student status under the following conditions:
(2) The right to regain student status, in the sense of the previous paragraph, can be exercised only once during the course of studies.
(3) In the decision on approving the reacquisition of student status, which is made by the dean, the student's obligations regarding the continuation of studies are determined.
(4) If the status of a full-time student has ended due to the reason specified in paragraph 2 of the previous article, the reacquisition of student status cannot be approved.
Article 243.
(Student status rest)
(1) The student's rights and obligations are suspended while on maternity leave or during the duration of an illness due to which he could not attend classes and take exams, which is determined by the dean based on the previously obtained opinion of the competent health institution.
(2) By decision of the dean, upon his request, for the reasons from the previous paragraph and for other justified reasons that he is obliged to document, the student may be granted a suspension of his rights and obligations for a certain period of time, for a maximum duration of 1 (one) academic year, about which a corresponding note is entered in the student's index.
(3) Against the decision from the previous paragraph, the student can file an objection to the NNV/UNV of the faculty/academy/university, within 15 days from the day of his admission.
Article 244.
(Records on fulfillment of students' obligations)
(1) The study program determines the performance of certain teaching obligations for students, which the responsible teacher confirms by signing the index (registration sheet) at the end of the semester.
(2) Teachers and associates keep special records on the fulfillment of students' obligations in all forms of teaching work.
(3) Records from paragraph (1) of this article are kept in a unique way, for each subject, according to the methodology established by the organizational unit.
Article 245.
(Transfer from another university)
(1) Students of other universities may transfer and continue their respective studies at the University, in which case the exams passed will be recognized in their entirety, if there is the sameness and/or affinity of the teaching programs, i.e. their content and scope.
(2) If there is a difference in the curricula of the subjects passed, it is determined and the student is obliged to pass it.
(3) Upon completion of the procedure for the recognition of passed exams, the status of a student at the University is determined for the transferring student, identical to the status he had at the higher education institution from which he is transferring.
Article 246.
(Transfer request)
(1) The student submits the request for transfer, along with certified curricula and programs of passed subjects (only for students outside the University), and a certificate of passed exams and ECTS credits, to the faculty, no later than September 15 of the current year.
(2) The decision on approving the transfer and recognition of passed exams from another university is made by the dean.
(3) The decision from the previous paragraph can be appealed to the NNV/UNV of the faculty/academy/high school within 8 (eight) days, counting from the day of its receipt.
Article 247.
(Decision on exam recognition)
(1) The decision on the recognition of passed exams from another university is made by the teaching-scientific council, on the proposal of the teaching committee.
(2) The preparation of the proposal for the recognition of the exam, on the prescribed form, is carried out by the teaching committee consisting of the vice-dean for teaching of the faculty and the ECTS coordinators of the University and the faculty.
(3) Against the decision referred to in paragraph 1 of this article, an objection may be lodged with the NNV/UNV of the faculty.
(4) The decision on the objection is final.
Article 248.
(Transfer from one study program to another, within the University)
Analogous to Articles 245 and 246 of this Statute, it is possible to transfer from one study program to another, within the University, but only in the higher years of study, if the conditions from Article 242, paragraph (1) points a) and b) are met, and if this does not call into question the possibility of teaching the study year and the study program from which the student is transferring and to which he is transferring, in accordance with the standards and norms of higher education of the Canton.
ChArticle 249.
(Visiting student)
(1) He can study at the University visitingand student from other higher education institutions from the country and abroad, who enroll in parts of the study program at the University, in accordance with the contract between the universities.
(2) The status of visiting student can last for 2 (two) semesters during the course of studies.
(3) The rights and obligations of the visiting student, the method of covering the costs of his studies and other issues related to his status, are regulated by the contract from paragraph (1) of this article, the elements of which are proposed by the vice-rector for international cooperation and quality assurance.
(4) Class attendance and passed exams of visiting students are recorded in the index issued by the University, and proven by a certificate of passed exams. The implementation of this activity is the responsibility of the vice-rector for teaching and student affairs, and the ECTS coordinator of the University and organizational units.
(5) The student services of the faculty/academy/university keep records of visiting students, and the office of the vice-rector for international cooperation and quality assurance keeps aggregate records of those students.
ChArticle 250.
(University student as visiting student)
(1) A student of the University can implement a part of the study program at another higher education institution in the country and abroad, as a guest student, in accordance with the contract between the university and the higher education institution.
(2) The provisions of para. (2) to (5) of the previous article.
Article 251.
(Completion of studies before the established deadline)
(1) Students who achieve outstanding results in mastering the study program, i.e. the obligations established by the curriculum and study programs, may, without the obligation to follow lectures from the following years of study, complete their studies before the established deadline, in the manner established by the Rulebook on Studies, and under the following conditions, i.e. that they are:
(2) The decision on determining the rights of students from the previous paragraph, upon a submitted written request, is made by the NNV/UNV of the faculty/academy/high school, upon the proposal of the dean.
Article 252.
(Students achieving outstanding results)
(1) Full-time students who achieve outstanding results in mastering the obligations established by the curriculum and teaching programs, as well as by this Statute, are included in certain available forms of scientific research, i.e. artistic work.
(2) Under outstanding results, in the sense of the previous paragraph, it is understood that the student has an average grade of at least 8 (eight) in all subjects passed in the previous year/years.

(Full-time students and scientific research work)
Full-time students through the department can be involved in scientific and research work through various forms, such as:

(Praises and Awards)
A student who achieves special results in scientific-teaching and scientific-research, i.e. teaching and artistic work, can be awarded commendations and awards.

(Terms and procedure for awarding commendations and awards)
The conditions and procedure for awarding commendations and awards are regulated in more detail in the Rulebook on awards for students of the University of Zenica.
Article 256.
(Student responsibility)
(1) Students are responsible for violations of the obligations established by this Statute, which they commit intentionally or due to gross negligence.
(2) Violations of the student's obligations may be easier and harder.
Article 257.
(Breach of obligations)

(Measures)
(1) For violations of obligations, the following measures may be imposed on the student:
(2) Expulsion from the University can only be imposed for serious breach of duty, and for a duration of 1 (one) to 3 (three) academic years.
(3) When imposing measures due to a student's breach of obligations, the seriousness of the student's breach of obligations, its consequences, degree of responsibility, amount of the resulting damage, motives from which the breach of obligation was committed, previous work, as well as his behavior after the breach, are taken into account.
Article 259.
(Execution of measures)
(1) The pronounced measure due to the violation of the student's obligations cannot be enforced after the expiration of the period of (60) sixty days from the date of finality of the decision.
(2) The imposed reprimand measure is executed by handing the final decision to the student.
(3) The pronounced measure of public reprimand is carried out by highlighting the final decision on the notice board of the faculty/academy/high school.
(4) The pronounced measure of exclusion is carried out by highlighting the final decision on the notice board of the faculty, and recording it in the register and student index.
Article 260.
(Student's liability for damage)
(1) The student is responsible for the damage he/she causes to the University intentionally or due to gross negligence.
(2) Every student is obliged to report the damage caused to the dean of the faculty/academy/university orally in the minutes or in writing.
(3) On the basis of the submitted application or on the basis of personal knowledge, the dean of the faculty/academy/high school initiates the procedure for determining the damage and responsibility for the caused damage by decision.
(4) The decision on the initiation of the procedure for the determination of damage contains data on the damage, on the student who caused the damage, and evidence that establishes the existence of the damage.
Article 261.
(Decision on damages)
(1) The dean of the faculty/academy/university makes the decision on the amount of damage, responsibility for the damage and the student's obligation to compensate for the resulting damage.
(2) If the student does not compensate or does not agree to compensate the damage to the University, a lawsuit will be filed with the competent court for compensation.
Article 262.
(Procedure for determining the existence of violations of the student's obligations)
(1) The procedure for determining the existence of violations of the student's obligations is initiated by a request submitted by the dean of the faculty/academy/high school, and based on personal knowledge, or a submitted oral or written report.
(2) The procedure from the previous paragraph can be initiated within 6 (six) months from the day of learning about the violation of the obligation and the perpetrator, and no later than 12 months from the day when the violation was committed.
(3) Determining the existence of a violation of the student's obligations in the initiated procedure and imposing a measure is carried out by the commission for imposing measures due to the violation of the student's obligations (hereinafter: the disciplinary committee).
(4) The Disciplinary Commission consists of a president, who is elected from among the teachers, that is, associates, and two members, who are elected from among the students at the proposal of the Student Union, as well as a secretary, who is the secretary of the faculty where the violation was committed and who is responsible for the regularity of the commission's work.
(5) The president and members of the disciplinary commission, as well as their deputies, are appointed by the NNV/UNV faculty, for a period of 2 (two) years.
Article 263.
(Disciplinary Commission)
(1) The Disciplinary Commission, on the basis of an oral and public hearing, in the first instance, imposes a measure due to the violation of the student's obligation.
(2) The Disciplinary Commission can impose a measure only if the perpetrator has been heard at a hearing, but, exceptionally, also without a hearing, if he was duly invited to the hearing, but did not respond to the invitation without justified reasons.
Article 264.
(Appeal against the decision of the disciplinary commission)
(1) An appeal may be filed against the decision of the disciplinary commission from the previous article, within 8 (eight) days from the day of its receipt.
(2) The appeal is submitted to the Senate, which by its decision can revoke, modify or confirm the measure, which is final.
(3) Adequate records are kept of the imposed measures.
Article 265.
(Student rights and obligations)
(1) Students have the right and obligation to actively participate in classes, artistic and scientific-research work, in cooperation with academic staff, according to curricula and teaching programs.
(2) In addition to the rights established by this Statute and the law, the right of students is, in particular, to:
(3) To exercise the rights of students from para. (1) and (2) of this article, the vice-rector for teaching and student affairs and the deans of faculties/academies/universities are responsible.
Article 266.
(The right to complete studies)
(1) A student has the right to start his studies and finish them according to the study program, curriculum and curriculum, which were in use when enrolling in the 1st (first) year of studies, and no later than the beginning of the academic year in which he is caught up by the generation of students, enrolled according to the amended study program and curriculum.
(2) A student who does not complete the course of study within the period established in the previous paragraph, will complete the course according to the modified study program and curriculum.
Article 267.
(Student obligation)
Students are obliged to comply with the rules established by law, this Statute and general acts of the University.
Article 268.
(Student-demonstrator)
(1) Full-time students, who in the previous years of study achieved a minimum average grade of 8 (eight), and who have a minimum grade of 9 (nine) in a certain subject, may be elected as associate students (demonstrators) on that subject, and, on the basis of such engagement, receive appropriate financial compensation, in accordance with the decision of the Board of Directors.
(2) Selection of student-associates (demonstrator) is carried out by the NNV/UNV of the faculty/academy/university, based on an internal advertisement, and on the proposal of the subject teacher and dean, whereby priority is given to students with higher grades in the specific course.
Article 269.
(Acquainting students with their rights and obligations)
(1) Acquaintance of students with their rights and obligations is carried out:

Article 270.
(Procedure according to the provisions of the Law on Administrative Procedure)
When resolving questions about the individual rights and obligations of students, the provisions of the Law on Administrative Procedure of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (further: ZUP of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina) are applied, when it comes to:

(Student Union)
(1) In order to exercise and protect their rights and interests, students are organized in Union of students of the University of Zenica.
(2) Student Union is a non-partisan body, i.e. an umbrella student organization, which operates within the University of Zenica and is made up of all enrolled students of the University.
Article 272.
(Statute Union of students)
(1) Student Union has its own bodies, the number, composition and competences of which are determined by the Statute Union of students.
(2) Student Union, in the manner and according to the procedure established by the Statute Union, elects its representatives to the bodies of the University and to the bodies of the organizational units.
Article 273.
(Election of students in University bodies)
(1) Student representatives in the bodies of the University are elected by the Board of Directors Union of students, at the proposal of the student association, in accordance with the Statute Union of students.
(2) When discussing and voting in the bodies and bodies of the University, on issues of interest to students, student representatives have the obligation to represent the interests of students.
(3) Questions in terms of the previous paragraph, especially refer to the change of the study system, ensuring the quality of studies, adopting study programs, determining the implementation plans of studies and student standards.

ChArticle 275.
(Student Associations)
(1) Students have the right to organize their own/student associations at organizational units in all 3 (three) study cycles, in which membership can be achieved by all students who have the status of University students.
(2) Student associations deal with realizing and protecting the rights and interests of students in scientific-teaching/artistic-teaching, scientific-research, professional, cultural, sports and other work, as well as improving the standard of living and social life of students.
(3) More detailed provisions on the composition, number and competences of student association bodies by organizational units are contained in the Statute Union students.

(Financing and working conditions Union of students)
(1) The University, as part of its annual financial plan, provides adequate conditions for work Union students, with the obligation to find suitable space and necessary equipment for its functioning.
(2) Organizational units of the University, as part of their annual financial plan, provide adequate conditions for the work of student associations, with the obligation to find appropriate space and necessary equipment for their functioning.
(3) In addition to sources of funding from the University, and in order to achieve their statutory goals and competences, Union students can perform appropriate activities for the purpose of obtaining income, in accordance with the law and its acts.
